Bruce J. Annett, Jr.
Bruce J. Annett, Jr. has served as Lawrence Technological University’s vice president of marketing and public affairs since 2016. He has held a number of communication and leadership roles at LTU over the past 40 years and for 23 years was concurrently also the director of alumni services and managed major events. He oversees LTU’s website, publications, digital media, graphic design, media relations, advertising, marketing, and marketing videography. He is the recipient of nearly 50 national or regional awards for editorial excellence and communication.
Annett has researched and written hundreds of stories about individuals, institutions, events, technology, and history at Lawrence Technological University and earlier, with DePauw University. He established Lawrence Tech’s University Archives in 1977. He also led the restoration of a 1940s era experimental airplane and an automobile designed and built by Lawrence Tech students. He is writing the University’s first history. He has received two of the top national and state awards for studies of local history -- the Award of Commendation from the American Association for State and Local History; as well as the Award of Merit from the Historical Society of Michigan.
Annett is active in a number of community organizations, is a senior member of the Society of Professional Journalists, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Oakland County Pioneer & Historical Society for over 30 years. He was elected to 13 consecutive annual terms as president managing a recreational community in northern Michigan. He is a graduate of Albion College and Michigan State University.
