4 Blue Devil bowlers make top 25 at WHAC Bowling Jamboree #3

Lawrence Technological University hosted the WHAC Bowling Jamboree #3 at Country Lanes in Farmington on Dec. 8. Four Blue Devils finished in the top 25 in a field of 63 bowlers in the individual competition. LTU took fifth place out of seven teams in the Men’s/Mixed Division.

The Davenport University women’s team claimed its third consecutive win, and Northwestern Ohio came in first in the men’s division.
Freshman Bridget Morivz led LTU by coming in seventh with a total score of 780, a 195 average, and high score of 215 in four games. Freshman Maxwell Alestra followed with a total score of 701, 175.25 average, and a high score of 189.
Also finishing in the top 25 were sophomore Eric Williams with a total score of 690 and a 172.50 average, and Scott Kujawa with 674 total pins and a 168.50 average.
Bowling in three games were Henry Huvaere II with a total score of 579, followed by sophomore Justin Clark at 548, freshman Eric Pavlov, 518, junior Joe Polizzi, 503, and junior Greg Ezzo, 501.
Freshmen Haley Hysell had 604 pins in four games.
Freshman Nick Mikealian, senior Steven Baibak, and freshman Ryan Zarnick also competed for LTU.
The Blue Devils will be in action again on Jan. 5 in Fort Wayne, IN, for Jamboree #4.
Hubbard shines at WHAC Bowling Jamboree #2
Freshman Nick Hubbard led the Lawrence Technological University men’s bowling team by finishing second at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Jamboree #2. The Nov. 17 event was hosted by Aquinas College at Lincoln Lanes in Grand Rapids.
In Men’s/Mixed Division team competition, the Blue Devils’ Team A placed fifth out of seven teams with a score of 6369 and an 844.31 average. Team B finished third out of four teams with a score of 6637 and an 889.86 average. Indiana Tech University Team A was the overall leader with a score of 7115 and 928.47 average.
Hubbard had a high score of 258 and a total score of 826 in four games for a 206.5 average. Also finishing in the top 25 were sophomores Scott Kujawa with a 183.25 average and Eric Williams with a 178.75 average. Kujawa had a high score of 224 and a total score of 733. Williams’ high score was 210, and his total score was 715.
Freshman Ryan Zarnick had a high score of 211, and a total score of 663 in four games for a 165.75 average. Sophomore Justin Clark had a high score of 170, total score of 653, and 163.25 average.
Freshman Bridget Murivz had a total score of 546 in three games for a 182 average. She was followed by junior Joe Polizzi with a total score was 522 and a 174 average. Next was freshman Henry Huvaere II who had a 518 total and 172.67 average. Freshman Nick Mikealian had a total score of 449 for a 149.67 average.
Junior Greg Ezzo had a total score of 373 in two games for a 186 average and freshman Haley Hysell’s score was 360 for a 180 average. Freshmen Eric Pavlov averaged 161.5 and Maxwell Alestra averaged 152 for two games.
