Lawrence Tech’s annual faculty-staff fund-raising campaign has raised $127,390 for this academic year, easily passing the goal of $100,000. The campaign got a big boost when President Emeritus Richard Marburger offered a challenge grant of $15,000 if the campaign met its goals for money raised and participation. The overall participation rate of 48 percent fell short, so Marburger agreed to contribute half of his challenge grant this year and roll over the other half for a new challenge for the next annual campaign. The participation rate was 68 percent for full-time employees and 27 percent for part-time employees. There were 33 first-time donors, an increase of 83 percent from last year. The faculty and staff have now raised more than three quarters of a million dollars during six years of Proud Heritage Bold Future Campaign College of Engineering won the Campaign Cup with 68 percent overall participation rate. The College of Management was second at 47 percent.
