Systematic innovation doesn’t have to be an oxymoron

Monday, April 16th, 2012

C2C Solutions President Dave Verduyn will speak on “Systematic Innovation” at the meeting of the Inventors Association of Metropolitan Detroit on Thursday, April 19, at 7 p.m. in room M218 in the Buell Management Building. The group generally meets on the third Thursday of the month.
Verduyn will invite his listeners to:

• Imagine being able to tap into the knowledge and experience of thousands of the world’s best inventors.
• Imagine being able to improve the efficiency of problem solving on your projects.
• Imagine it being much easier to come up with new and novel ideas that add value for your potential customers.

Since 1998 Verduyn has done this for his Fortune 500 clients in 21 countries. A wide variety of inventive principles and best practices in the area of innovation has been organized into a process and set of practical tools anyone can learn and use to improve their “Innovation IQ.” He will explain methods for cost reduction, problem solving, idea generation, and patent circumvention.

A 1985 Lawrence Tech mechanical engineering graduate, he has 24 years of industry experience in design and systems engineering, technical instruction, product development consulting, and technical course development.

Since 1983 Verduyn has trained thousands of engineers and product developers in leading methods, which include VOC, QFD, Systematic Innovation, TRIZ, FMEA, and other Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Methods.   He has a broad range of practical experience in automotive, consumer and industrial products, medical systems, defense and service industries. He splits his time between client workshops, coaching, in-house training, course development, and “hands on” project-based facilitation.
