Lawrence Tech celebrates international diversity

The Lawrence Tech campus community celebrated the cultural diversity of its student body with an international festival that started March 28 with a spirited celebration of Holi, the festival of colors, and concluded March 30 with the documentary “Salaam dunk” about a women’s basketball team in Iraq. Holi is a traditional celebration of the coming of spring in India and other countries with a Hindu population. For centuries it has been celebrated by people throwing scented powder at each other. Dean of Students Kevin Finn and his staff organized a Lawrence Tech version of this ritual outside the UTLC that gave students, staff and faculty the opportunity to enjoy a sunny spring day.
