LTU Staff Senate celebrates St. Patrick’s Day

  • Marilyn Hotaling (R) of the Lawrence Tech Library plays the fiddle and sings with Tom Dooley and Icie Marie Frady-Alley of Inis-Ceol. The group entertained faculty and staff for the St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
  • The annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration attracted a large crowd to the RFoC.

The Lawrence Tech Staff Senate hosted 129 members of the LTU campus community at the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration two days early on March 15 in the RFoC. They enjoyed an Irish menu, live Irish Folk music by Inis-Ceol,  an Irish trivia test, an Irish board game, a potato decorating contest, and even a limerick.

The winners of the potato-decorating contest were:

  • 1st Place:  Austin Chapman
  • 2nd Place: Margaret Cook
  • 3rd Place:  George Grzywacz
  • 4th Place:  Stacey Yon
  • 5th Place: Michelle Bouton

The Irish board game winners were Christian Forrest and Martha Thompson.

The event was coordinated by Staff Senate Social Committee members Marija Franetovic, Dorrie Frontera, and Tracy McGhee.
