Lawrence Tech students attend APACC meeting

Friday, November 19th, 2010

Senior Lecturer Don Reimer and a group of Lawrence Tech students from China met with Denise Yee Grim, executive director of the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce.

A group of Lawrence Tech students from China attended the November meeting of the

Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APACC) held in the UTLC gallery on Nov. 10.

About 11 students attended the workshop on “Financing a New Business.” Pavan Muzumdar, Lawrence Tech’s entrepreneur in residence, was on the workshop panel.

The students were guests of APACC, and following the workshop APACC  Executive Director Denise Yee Grim met with them. The event provided an opportunity for these international students to network and interact with Chinese entrepreneurs.

William Wang, a graduate student in engineering management, assisted Senior Lecturer Don Reimer, who is director of entrepreneurial programs at Lawrence Tech, in identifying Chinese students who would be interested and inviting them to the workshop.

The next APACC meeting in January will also be held on the Lawrence Tech campus.
