  • Mike Haley designed this logo for Innovation Encounter.
Mike Haley, a senior majoring in fine arts in imaging with concentrations in digital arts and graphic design, has won the logo design contest for Innovation Encounter, a competition for engineering students that Lawrence Tech will host this fall. The prize was $100.

On Oct. 29, teams of undergraduate students from several universities will be asked to solve a real-world, engineering-focused problem in a single action-packed day, using structured innovation tools.

The Innovation Encounter is funded, in part, by a grant from the Kern Family Foundation to Lawrence Tech for the purpose of providing engineering students with an entrepreneurial mindset, which includes recognition of societal values, business principles ,and customer awareness in addition to a significant depth of technical knowledge. The Innovation Challenge will help participants develop these important attributes.

The student CEO Club is helping the Innovation Encounter team with preparations for the event.
The CEO Club conducted the design competition for a logo to be used for marketing the event. It will be used on all event communications and will be on the t-shirt provided to all participants.

Six logos were submitted by students from various departments.
