Help Desk Technician named staff member of the month

Help Desk Technician Eliot Sippola has been selected as the November 2009 Staff Member of the Month by the Lawrence Tech Staff Council, the governing body of the Staff Senate. He joined the Help Desk staff in September 2007, after receiving his bachelor’s in business administration from Eastern Michigan University in 2006.
Sippola was nominated by staff in the First Year Programs office, who said of him, “Eliot goes above and beyond to help when others would have given up on a problem…he is personable, attentive, patient, committed to following through on projects, and delivers a level of quality assistance that the Help Desk should be proud of.”
Regarding his work at the Help Desk, Eliot says, “It has really been a pleasure being a part of the LTU community and working with such talented people.”
Many people consider Sippola a technological whiz, and he has certifications in CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ and plans to complete his Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
Beyond technology, Eliot’s interests include investing and monitoring market trends. He plans to return to Eastern Michigan for his MBA in January 2010.
He notes, “It is good to know where the dollar gets its value and where it stands in the global community. Look out for Sippola Investments, LLC in the future.”
He also volunteers his time to help others in need.
The Staff Council recognizes full- and part-time Lawrence Tech staff each month for their outstanding contributions to the University. Nominees exhibit professionalism, dedication, and integrity in the workplace and excel in the performance of their work duties. Nominations are accepted at any time from any Lawrence Tech constituent (staff, faculty, or student) through the Staff Senate website .
