Note: To determine if your computer uses Java 8, see the “Determine Java Version” page. Java 8 users might see the following error message when attempting to access Banner forms.

Application Error

The steps to fix this error depend on what version of Java 8 your computer is using. Please note that the steps below apply to both Windows and Mac operation systems.
 

Java 8 prior to Java 8u51

1. Access the Java control panel

- See the “Determine Java Version” page to know how to access the Java control panel

2. In the Java control panel

- Go to the Advanced tab

- Scroll down to Advance Security Settings (see image below)

   -Check the box for "Use SSL 2.0 compatible ClientHello format"

   -The following should already be checked: Use TLS 1.0, Use TLS 1.1, and Use TLS 1.2

- Hit Apply and then OK

3. Restart the browser and try to access Banner forms

Java 8u51 or later

1. Access the Java control panel

- See the “Determine Java Version” page to know how to access the Java control panel

2. In the Java control panel

- Go to the Advanced tab

- Scroll down to Advance Security Settings (see image below)

     -Check the box for "Use TLS 1.0"

     -Uncheck the box for "Use TLS 1.1"

     -Uncheck the box for "Use TLS 1.2"

     -Uncheck the box for "Use SSL 2.0 compatible ClientHello format"

- Hit Apply and then OK

3. Restart the browser and try to access Banner forms
